Ordained priest on 16 June 1995 by Pope Shenouda III, he served Karmooz Church in Alexandria for over 20 years and faced sectarian threats and attacks at the beginning of his service. He received the rank of Hegumen on 16 October 2021 from Pope Tawadros II. On the evening of 7 April 2022, while returning from a church trip to the beach, he was attacked and stabbed to death. The Coptic Orthodox Church considers him a martyr who dedicated his life to the Lord until the very end.

On the evening of Thursday, 7 April 2022, at approximately 8 PM, while present at the Sidi Bishr area east of Alexandria with a group of youth and servants from his church following a trip to Abu Haifa beach, Hegumen Arsanios Wadid, priest of the Church of the Virgin Mary and St. Bolas in Karmooz, was suddenly attacked and stabbed by a 60-year-old man, who wounded him in the neck, severing the main artery. He was immediately transferred to the Military Hospital in Sidi Gaber, where resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful, and he passed away shortly after arrival.
